Q: Can DocXchanger be installed on multiple servers in the same
directory tree?
A: Yes.
Details:
Assuming you have purchased a multi-server
license, you can install the DocXchanger NLM on multiple servers in
the same directory tree. Additionally, you can set up individual
sharing policies and access controls for each server. Each server
however, must be configured to use a single DocXchanger container in
eDirectory.
Q: If I drag a file to the "My Computer" icon where does it copy the
file?
A: Files dragged onto the "My Computer" icon are copied to the root of
the "My Documents" folder.
Details:
Dropping files on the "My Computer" icon
automatically saves the file to "My Documents" or "Documents," in
Windows XP or Vista respectively. This maintains consistency with
Microsoft's own guidelines regarding storing personal data within
the user's own document storage area. Consequently, this makes it so
"My Computer" or "Computer" is out of view, removing either from
being an accidental drop target.
Q: When using the DocXchanger Client in local mode in Windows, what
would happen if I were to attempt to copy a file from the network drive
to a sharing link location that happens to be on the same volume?
A: The file in question will be moved instead of copied.
Details:
When files are dragged between
two locations on the same drive, the files are moved, not copied.
Q: Is the user notified if their directory quota is exceeded?
A: Presently, the answer is no.
Details:
This is a known issue that will
be resolved in the next release.
Q: How do I change the "Login" logo to my company logo?
A: Replace the DocX-logo.png with one of your choice.
Details:
The dimentions need to be
"something x something". Once the user logs in with the DocXchanger
Client the logo is replaced with the desired image.
Q: When I look at my outgoing sharing link stop times I see a stop
date of Dec 31, 1969. Why does this date appear and what does it mean?
A: It means that the sharing link will not expire.
Details:
December 31, 1969 (at 23:59:59) is the second
before computer time begins, and in this case it's being used to
tell the system that the sharing link will never expire.
Q: When using the "Search Address Book" option, I receive a message
stating "One or more unspecified errors have occured". What can I do?
A: The Search Address Book feature uses MAPI and requires one of the
supported email clients to be installed in order for this option to
work.
Details:
See the Administration Guide for further details
on DocXchanger and the Mapi interface.
Q: Can DocXchanger handle the uploading of files larger than 2GB?
A: Presently, the answer is "no."
Details:
This is a known issue and will be resolved in
future releases.
Q: What happens if my user index grows larger than the number of
users for which DocXchanger is licensed?
A: DocXchanger will disregard the new user index and use the last
user index that was in compliance with the DocXchanger licensing count.
Details:
DocXchanger is scheduled to rebuild the
user index at scheduled intervals. The rebuilt user index however,
will not be saved (and utilized by DocXchanger) if the user count
exceeds the license count. You can fix this problem by simply
reducing the number of users to be indexed, or by purchasing more
licenses.
